Reverse position opening is a quick operation feature in contract trading, suitable for scenarios where users anticipate a market reversal or need to rapidly adjust their position direction within a short period.
Through the reverse position opening feature, users can quickly switch their current position direction. For example:
• When currently holding a long position, users can quickly close the long position and open a short position of the same quantity;
• When currently holding a short position, users can quickly close the short position and open a long position of the same quantity.
This feature helps users timely take profit, stop loss, or reverse their layout during rapid market changes, improving operational efficiency and avoiding missing market opportunities due to manually closing and then reopening positions.
1. Feature Description
After the user clicks [Reverse Position Opening], the system will perform the following operations based on the currently selected position information:
1. Close the currently selected position at market price;
2. Open a new position in the opposite direction with the same quantity at market price;
3. Automatically cancel all untriggered closing orders under the contract, including but not limited to:
• Take profit orders;
• Stop loss orders;
• Planned closing orders;
• Other untriggered closing-related orders.
For example:
If a user currently holds a BTC/USDT long position of 0.1 BTC, after clicking reverse position opening and confirming, the system will first close the 0.1 BTC long position at market price, then open a 0.1 BTC short position at market price.
If a user currently holds an ETH/USDT short position of 1 ETH, after clicking reverse position opening and confirming, the system will first close the 1 ETH short position at market price, then open a 1 ETH long position at market price.
2. Applicable Scenarios
The reverse position opening feature is suitable for the following situations:
1. The user judges that the current market is about to reverse and wishes to quickly switch trading direction;
2. The current position has reached the expected profit, and the user wants to take profit and immediately reverse the layout;
3. The current position is at a loss, and the user wants to stop loss and then open a reverse position following the trend;
4. Market volatility is severe, and manually closing and reopening positions may miss the best trading opportunity;
5. The user needs to improve trading efficiency and reduce repetitive operation steps.
3. Operation Procedure
1. Enter the contract trading page;
2. On the [Current Positions] or [Positions] page, select the position to operate;
3. Click the [Reverse Position Opening] button;
4. The system will pop up a confirmation window showing the current position direction, quantity, trading pair, and expected operation results;
5. The user carefully checks the relevant information;
6. If correct, click [Confirm];
7. The system will first execute a market price close, then attempt to open a new position in the opposite direction with the same quantity at market price;
8. If the user does not wish to proceed, click [Cancel] to close the confirmation window.
4. Important Notes
1. The system will close first, then open
Reverse position opening is not simply changing the position direction but consists of two actions:
• First, close the current position;
• Then, open a new position in the opposite direction;
Therefore, even if the subsequent reverse position opening fails, the previous close operation may already have been completed.
2. Please ensure sufficient account margin
After the system completes closing the position, it will attempt to open a new position in the opposite direction with the same quantity.
If the available margin is insufficient, risk control limits are triggered, market volatility is severe, or contract conditions are not met, the reverse position opening may fail.
In such cases, the original position may have already been closed, but the opposite new position failed to be established.
Therefore, please ensure sufficient available balance and margin before operating.
3. Reverse position opening will cancel related closing orders
To prevent the original position's take profit, stop loss, or planned closing orders from being triggered after reverse position opening, the system will automatically cancel all untriggered closing orders under the contract when executing reverse position opening.
Please reset take profit and stop loss according to the new position direction after the new position is established.
4. Market price execution may involve slippage
• Reverse position opening uses market price execution, and the transaction price will be based on the best available market price at that time.
• In cases of severe market volatility, insufficient order book depth, or low liquidity, the final transaction price may differ from the user's expected price.
5. Please use high leverage with caution
If the user's current position uses high leverage, the new position after reverse position opening may also face high risks.
If the market continues moving against the position, forced liquidation may be triggered quickly.
5. Risk Warning
Reverse position opening is a quick trading feature that can improve operational efficiency but may result in outcomes inconsistent with expectations due to market fluctuations, slippage, insufficient margin, risk control restrictions, and other factors.
Please carefully confirm before use:
• Whether the trading pair is correct;
• Whether the current position direction is correct;
• Whether the position quantity is correct;
• Whether the account has sufficient available margin;
• Whether you agree to cancel original take profit, stop loss, and planned orders;
• Whether you can bear the market risks after reverse position opening.
If you confirm to execute reverse position opening, please click [Confirm] to complete the operation; if not, please click [Cancel].
Digital asset contract trading carries high risks; please operate cautiously according to your own risk tolerance.
